A short introduction to a Japanese film, a screening with subtitles, then a gentle discussion of language and culture.

Sample date — illustrative

Fri · 19:00–21:30

In person · Lingua House screening room

What happens

Before the screening, we look at a handful of phrases and cultural references you’ll hear in the film.

Afterwards, the discussion is held mostly in English, with optional small-group conversation in Japanese for those who want it.

Films are chosen for their everyday language and atmosphere rather than spectacle.
